Sorry but there isn't a zoo on Waiheke except of course the human zoo. But the Waiheke Directory did promise A - Z so we had to deliver. CLICK HERE TO RETURN TO THE DIRECTORY If you are interested the photo was taken at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Sanctuary in July 2002. The centre is about 40 minutes from Sandakan in the Malaysian state of Sabah in what use to be known as Borneo. It is in a forest reserve where young orphaned or captive orangutans are taught the survival skills they need to return to their natural habitat. |
