Onetangi Beach on Waiheke Island - the big beach

Onetangi Beach, 2.5 kilometres of firm white sand and Waiheke's largest beach and a  favourite  with the surfers and sea kayak riders. Once a year the beach becomes Waiheke's race course with horse racing up and down the beach. This lovely white-sand beach is so long, there's no chance you won't find a decent spot to set up camp for the day. Plenty of room for everyone. Safe and good swimming even at low tide.

Also near Onetangi there is Waiheke Island Historic Village  and close by a 9 hole golf course and sports ground where during the winter months you can watch the local rugby teams play the visitors.

In Onetangi Road is St Andrews by the Sea the Anglican Church and part of Parish of the Islands  -  Serving the Islands of the Hauraki Gulf.
