Waiheke has made a name for itself as a haven for artists, writers and craftspeople. There are more than 70 working artists resident on the island many of whom exhibit in the Waiheke Community Gallery at Artworks and other galleries and studios around the island. The types of art and craft include ceramics, clay work, oil and water colour. You can see sculptors working at their studio or brush up on you own painting skills with a painting holiday.
